MedPharm, KBP conducts annual medical outreach at Awak

     med1The Filipino organization Katalingbang Bisaya sa Pohnpei (KBP) and the Medpharm Group of Companies conducted a medical mission last September 25, 2011 at Awak Elementary School in U, Pohnpei. The team was assisted by FSM/Pohnpei Health Services HIV Program.
     Over 200 people showed up for the outreach where they received free medical and eye checkups as well as medicines.  Doctors, nurses and staff from Medpharm and FSM / Pohnpei State Hospital and Public Health join forces to provide enough manpower to treat the large volume of patients that showed up. KBP members and friends were also assisting to make this mission successful.
     med2According to KBP President, Roselyn Reyes, the organization has been conducting medical missions in different parts of Pohnpei since 1998 and has no plans to discontinue the program. Reyes said that the organization will continue its annual medical outreach mission every year to provide medical assistance to the people of Pohnpei.
     The SDA student missionaries also volunteered to assist the medical mission headed by their Coordinator Ms. Joy Nugent
